Unipart’s busy National Distribution Centre required a floor solution tailored to meet different operating circumstances – a floor finish that could withstand intensive forklift and pallet truck traffic in gangway areas, and a finish to suit those areas where traffic was lighter. The existing floor also needed to be upgraded so that new racking and handling facilities could be installed. Several Reepol systems were used to achieve these requirements. This major project was undertaken in a number of phases over several years.
This was an older building with variations in levels and floor finishes. Areas of the slab had dropped and there was oil impregnation. The requirement was to achieve a durable and uniform finish. A number of repair and restoration methods were deployed prior to finishing with Reeflor EL002, a trowel-applied, self-smoothing epoxy coating containing fine aggregates. This was an extensive project undertaken in several phases over a three year period.
